A scenic view of the Orne River banks as seen from the bridge of Pont d'Ouilly in Suisse Normand, Normandy, France. The Suisse Normand is in the inland of the Lower Normandy Department, and is so called as its territory, with gentle hills and wonderful green meadows somehow recalls Switzerland. .On August 1944 Pont'd'Oully was the theatre of fierce fighting between German and Allied troops (mostly Canadian and Polish) for the seizing of the bridge over the Orne.
