From a certain distance this beautiful winterberry looked like a sort of bloom, well out of season. I love this tree, particularly for the strong contrast between the grey bark and the red berries..Taken on a late afternoon of October in Valle Stretta, western Alps. This is a stitch of three horizontal frames captured with my beloved Zeiss Planar 50 f1,4. Manual focused on the berries thanks to the amazing 10x magnification of the new 50D live view, and then stopped down to f4 just to include the bark in the DOF.
