it had been bad weather for days, overcast and snowy. However the sky couldn't choose a better moment to start clearing off: the amazingly bright full moon night of mid of December. I knew that the full moon that month would have been special, as it was 8000 miles closer to Earth than how it usually is, and I was a bit frustrated therefore about the clouds. At 2AM I was ready for bed and just gave a quick look outside: I never went to sleep that night! I took this picture from a field beside home. I had noticed how fast the clouds were travelling in the sky and so I chose a composition with less ground and more sky. I knew the clouds would have drawn some beautiful stripes along their motion. What I had not expected was how beautifully the city lights of Turin (more than 20 miles away!) would have tinged the clouds with reds and purples.
