The Cinque Terre, famous worldwide for their five enchanted medieval villages with small fishermen ports, narrow cobblestone lanes and romantic trails, are also a great place for some serious seascape. .And the rocky coast beneath the small port of Manarola - probably the most pictoresque of the five villages - is simply a gold mine of photographic opportunities. I took this picture on a very cold evening of January, at the end of a rainy and windy day. The heavy sea was just calming down, but it was still heavy enough to produce some beautiful crashing waves and whirls on the reefs.
