The Po river, the longest river in Italy with its more than 650 kms in length, spanning the entire northern Italy from the French border to the Adriatic sea, has its sources in this small plateau called Pian del Re (King's plain), right at the feet of the Monviso in Piedmont, Italy. I took this picture on an overcast day at the end of May. The low clouds against the mountains add some interest to the background, acting like a curtain.
