A crystal clear early morning at Combal Lake, and the awesome peaks known as Pyramides Calcaires athed in the beautiful warm light of dawn. The Combal Lake is placed at the top of the Valveny, at the feet of the southwestern side of the Monte Bianco range in Valle d'Aosta, Italy. Its name is indeed a bit misleading, as instead of a lake there are streams and small ponds. However, there was actually a lake here centuries ago, but after decades of floods. the bed is now almost completely filled up with debris. Making this place one of the highest swamp in the world. This high altitude prairie is wonderful in summer, with the floor carpeted with white cottongrass (Eriophorum Scheuchzeri) and other species of wildflowers. This is a stitch of four vertical frames.
